Marcos and the Zapatistas believe that the natives of Chiapas are very repressed in terms of expressing and identifying with the culture and customs of their ancestors. In general, the basic philosophy of Marcos, as well as the Zapatista army, is that equal rights should be extended to all, irrespective of race, nationality, gender, sexual preference, political affiliation or religious beliefs, and that these equal rights entail no special treatment towards anyone concerning economic or educational opportunity, or the freedom to express oneself, provided it does not interfere with the personal liberty of another. Analysis of Wuthering Heights  Ã‚   â€Å"Wuthering Heights is a strange, inartistic story†(Atlas, WH p. 299).   â€Å"Wuthering Heights is a strange sort of book† (Douglas, WH p.301).   â€Å"This is a strange book† (Examiner, WH p.302).   â€Å"His work [Wuthering Heights] is strangely original† (Britannia, WH p.305).   These brief quotes show that early critics of Emily Bronte’s first edition of Wuthering Heights, found the novel baffling in its meaning - they each agreed separately, that no moral existed within the story therefore it was deemed to have no real literary value.  Ã‚   The original critical reviews had very little in the way of praise for the unknown author or the novel.   The critics begrudgingly acknowledged elements of Wuthering Heights that could be considered strengths – such as, â€Å"rugged power† and â€Å"unconscious strength† (Atlas, WH p.299), â€Å"purposeless power† (Douglas, WH p.301), â€Å"evidences of considera ble power† (Examiner), â€Å"power and originality† (Britannia, WH p.305).   Strange and Powerful are two recurring critical interpretations of the novel.  Ã‚   The critics did not attempt to provide in depth analysis of the work, simply because they felt that the meaning or moral of the story was either entirely absent or seriously confused.      The authorship of Wuthering Heights was an element of much discussion by critics.   They believed the work to be the efforts of an inexperienced and unpracticed writer.   The critical reviews, in my opinion, would have expressed even harsher judgments had it been commonly known that the author was in fact a young woman.   â€Å"In Wuthering Heights, the reader is shocked, disgusted, almost sickened by details of cruelty, inhumanity, and the most diabolical hate and vengeance†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Douglas, WH p. 302).   Had this particular critic been aware of the author’s true identity, his barely concealed dislike for the work would have had no constraint. Robert Hooke discovered cells when he looked at a slice of cork in a microscope. And he had also found out that it was made of many tiny cells. Furthermore, a Dutch scientist had discovered a large variety of red blood cells and sperm cells and egg cells. Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things.A cell is something really tiny that could not be seen with a naked eye but only using a microscope. They also take in nutrients, convert these nutrients into energy, carry out specialized functions, and reproduce as necessary. Cells have many parts that each do a large variety of different things. Some of the things a cell contains is a cytoplasm and a nucleus. A cytoplasm is a jelly-like fluid that surrounds the nucleus and a nucleus controls the activities that the whole cell does.Cells also act toge ther to form and create everything that exists in this world today. One type of cells are known as Bacteria cells. Bacteria were among the first life forms to appear on  Earth, and are present in most  habitats  on the planet, growing in soil, water,  acidic hot springs, radioactive wasteland and deep in the  Earth's crust, as well as in organic matter and the live bodies of plants and animals. The vast majority of the bacteria in the body are rendered harmless by the protective effects of the  immune system, and a few are  beneficial.However, a few species of bacteria are  pathogenic  and could cause some serious infectious diseases, including  cholera,  syphilis,  anthrax,  leprosy, and  bubonic plague. They contain a well developed  cell  structure. Bacterial cells are fairly small cells that come in many different types such as spheres, rods and spirals. Bacteria cells do not have a nucleus unlike early all of the other cells. They also contain a cell wall, cyptoplasm, a cell membrane and ‘Free’ DNA.A meteorite had been found on mars that contained many unusual things and forms of life inside it. The objects in the mars meteorite could have been either cells , unknown animals or even Martians. The evidence for this information being true could be that when scientists had examined the marvellous rock , the gas trapped inside it matched the atmosphere on mars. Also, the rocks that fall on earth every day are not usual types of rocks, but rocks that are often very hard to be recognized. Scientists could and hould share their findings with other scientists so they can link the things that they have found out. By sharing your findings, not only would they learn new and interesting things from each other, but they would also see if the information is correct and very accurate. Furthermore, Peer review could be a good thing to do because people would learn a great deal about their writing, they get good feedback from f ellow scientists and they are able to improve their findings by using other peoples information.On the other hand, peer review could not be such a positive but a negative thing because they could not like for other people to see their findings and work, or the information given could not have strengths but weaknesses. In conclusion, I personally think that the objects and gasses found inside the meteorite could be real because scientists have observed the rock and have also found out that gasses the rock contained matched the whole of the atmosphere on Mars.Also, peer review is a good thing to do because you share you findings with other scientists and get positive feed back and how you could improve the things you have found out by being more accurate. This also links to the development of cells because Robert Hooke had found out that the strip of cork he was observing using the microscope contained and was made up of many small cells, and he had shared this with many the other sci entists and thats how the understanding of the cell has been improved through these many years.

In Modern Love, Dunn presents many ideas about the functioning of modern love, and they ways in which it differs from what he might perceive as traditional, or true love. He possibly discusses how modern love is superficial, and only a facade, as well as how modern love is interrupted by a variety of other commitments, but also how love is possibly the only escape from an otherwise dull and dreary life. Dunn initially talks about the superficiality of modern love by talking about how they are ‘enjoying minutes of rented silence’. The fact that it is a ‘rented silence’ suggests that it is only temporary, showing how modern love is not permanent. Furthermore, it could also suggest that to achieve these ‘minutes’, there has been a cost involved, whether monetary or purely symbolic. In addition, it says there is ‘not much to show for love’, further portray how this love is ineffectual, and that not much has been achieved by this love. The fact that they are ‘in a house that is not theirs’ further shows what length this couple has to go to to put up the facade of modern love. The juxtaposition of the word ‘love’ with ‘alone’ further displays the disconnection in the relationship of ‘modern love’. The powerful use of enjambment could be used to signify the constant progression of time t hroughout this poem, during which no ‘love’ is taking place. Furthermore, Dunn discusses how modern love is often interrupted by other commitments, namely, the family. Dunn writes how the ‘under-tens and invalids’ are finally asleep. The reference to what can be assumed to be the elderly as ‘invalids’ is somewhat derogatory, and this could be used to showcase the resentment shown towards them, as they may be responsible for the failures of modern love. In addition, the fact that they can only procure ‘minutes’ of ‘silence’ from this, shows how much these other commitments intrude into their love, and the fact that they prefer to ‘enjoy’ the ‘silence’ shows how hectic their involvement with their family can be. The reference to the family as ‘the upstairs people’, can possibly be used to suggest how this couple wants to distance themselves from the family, which can possibly suggest that the speaker yearns for a loving relationship, but this is not possib le. However, it can also be said that this love is their only solace from an otherwise dull and dreary lifestyle. The fact that they choose to ‘enjoy silence’ can be used to show that they simply value to spend time together; to get away from their hectic daily lives. The fact that it is said that their ‘lives flap’ is personification used to convey how there is a sense of disorganisedness or desperation in their lives, and Dunn goes on to write how ‘there is no hope of better happiness than this’, which goes to show that although modern love may be ineffectual and dull, it is the highlight of their lives. The fact that the poem is 14 lines long shows that it is written in the style of a sonnet, which could possibly suggest that there is some real love being represented here, and that the whole poem is not necessarily a criticism of modern love. Alternatively, however, this structure could have potentially been used sarcastically. Dunn also writes how ‘all other lives’ are ‘worn down to trees and sunlight’ and how they ‘look forward to a visit from the cat’, and this could be used to highlight how dull and uneventful their lives have become, and how ‘modern love’ is their only escape from this. Overall, although Dunn portrays Modern Love as somewhat of a facade, and superficial, as well as being constantly being interrupted by other commitments, he may also be trying to state how modern love is often the only solace couples have from their increasingly dull and dreary lives.
