Summary Of Immigrant Daughter And Loose Change Essay

Anna Safavi Paper Assignment, â€Å"Immigrant Daughter† and â€Å"Loose Change† Fran Esquibal in â€Å"The Immigrant Daughter†, and the women in â€Å"loose change† go through different processes of liberation. They find liberation in different aspects of their lives like the education, relationships, and independence. Each one of them finds a different way to deal with their problems but the process that they go through to find liberation is different for them. In the â€Å"Migrant Daughter†, Fran slowly becomes more and more interested in education, and later she realizes that with education and knowledge she can build a better life for herself. Because very early on we read that Fran is unhappy with the situation that her family is in economically, and she doesn’t want the same life. She goes on to understand the relationship between the level of education and the money and job security that comes with it. With that knowledge and her interest in her school subjects, she works hard to get good grades at high school in order to eventually go to College. And in college she works hard at achieving her goals and becoming a teacher to be able to secure a better life for her. Susie in â€Å"loose Change† comes from a wealthy family and when she goes to college she is not expecting a better life for her self. She goes to college because of her wealth and status and because many girls her age are starting to go to college. The college experience for Susie is a very different one from Fran.
